# Knowledge Base

> Understand how your product's facts and guidance improve prompts, content, and factual accuracy

Your Knowledge Base is the shared repository of facts and guidance about a product. Think of it like a private, product-specific library that gives The Prompting Company the context it needs to answer and write accurately.

It can include:

* Product descriptions, features, and differentiators
* Audience, customer, and use-case information
* Positioning, competitors, and approved claims
* Writing guidance and content rules
* Source material imported from your website, documentation, and other trusted pages

Each product has its own Knowledge Base, so its context stays separate from your other products.

## How the Knowledge Base is used

The Prompting Company uses your Knowledge Base as grounding for product-specific work across the platform:

* **Prompt suggestions and refinement:** Product context helps generate relevant questions that your audience may ask AI assistants.
* **Content generation:** Facts, positioning, and writing guidance help generated content stay accurate and consistent with your product.
* **Workspace assistant:** The assistant searches relevant Knowledge Base files before completing work that depends on product facts.
* **Factual accuracy:** Product claims can be checked against the Knowledge Base and the sources you trust.

The Knowledge Base supports these workflows; it does not publish its files as customer-facing content.

## Add and maintain knowledge

During product setup, confirm the website and documentation URLs that should seed your Knowledge Base. To add more information later:

1. Select your product and open **Knowledge** in the sidebar.
2. From **Overview**, select **Add link** to import a trusted page.
3. Ask the workspace assistant to add or correct facts, positioning, or guidance in plain language.
4. Open **Files** to inspect the information and content rules stored for the product.
5. Review proposed changes before they become part of the Knowledge Base.

Keep the Knowledge Base current when product features, pricing, positioning, or approved claims change. More complete and accurate source material gives the platform better context for future prompts, content, and analysis.

<Tip>
Add authoritative sources that describe the product directly. Avoid pages with outdated claims or information that applies to a different product.
